The study shows that almost half of respondents (40%) use mobile Internet more that they use Internet from their computers.

Key findings suggest that iPhone users are older than iPod users, with 31% being 35-49 years old, compared to only 12% of iPod touch users.

iphone users also have higher income, with 78% of iPhone users earning $ 25,000, whereas 66% of iPod touch users ear $ 25,000.

Finally, it's no surprise that both iphone and iPod markets are strongly dominated by males, who represent over 70% of users.

Again this research reminds us that marketers must understand the target group. Some campaigns simply fail because the target audience is not fully understood. On the other hand, The Telegraph has developed a F1 iPhone app, which will show news coverage of the Formula One British Grand Prix, and this iphone app is likely to be successful because it's relevant to the iphone user demographics.

The survey included over 3000 users within each of the two groups (iphone and iPod) taken from the AdMob iPhone network.
